How shiny is that!?

I just got back from the amazing movie Julie & Julia and I realized that I haven't updated my own blog in months, I believe it is? How utterly horrifying. This summer has literally flown by me without stop and all I've been able to do is hold on for dear life and hope for the best.

School is starting in exactly eight days. I have a ton of stuff I want to get done before then but I resolve to try to write a little more about my life in here. This is afterall, sort of like my diary.

Well. This was a super long entry to make up for the lack of news all summer. Hope you read at least some (the real life cut is juicy :P) and I hope I'll write more often this year. I enjoy it so why not.

This is ridiculously awesome!!!

WOW!!! SO GORRAM BUSY!!!!

So I won the Kids Need to Read Banner Contest and then they asked me to design their business cards and the front of their brochure! Not to mention a t-shirt (which has been a long and grueling process as nothing is working.

Then they recommended me to the Austin Browncoats, who asked me to design their letterhead and the program for their CSTS screening!!! So I have been feverishly designing in my free-time which consists of the evening as I am working as a summer temp at Aga Khan Foundation Canada doing the most boring job in the 'verse, data entry.

My sister got married last Friday. The next morning, my dad drove me to Montreal where I attended VanArt's masterclass with TWO animators from PIXAR!!!!!! It was unbelievable. I want to be a computer animator so I learned so much...I can't even express how awesome it was.

Yesterday was a bad day. To cheer me up, my dad had received a $75 amazon coupon and he didn't know what to get with it so he asked me what I wanted, as well as my mum. So I am getting the Sarah Connor Chronicles soundtrack (which is not available on iTunes Canada) and season one of CHUCK!!! My mum is getting season one of Castle (on pre-order) and a 9-movie compilation of old comedies with Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye and Cary Grant. It totally made me feel better.

How much do I love the folks over at Qmx?! On Twitter, one of Qmx most prestigious graphic designers, Ben Lund, is following ME!!!! And he's only following 2 people right now!! Me and Qmx!

Here's what he wrote me:

GAAAHHH!!! They are now auctioning off the opportunity to name cities for their licensed Atlas of the Verse because I thought that prize was so amazing. I feel so influential *shy grin*

So I added Qmx on Twitter. They are this amazing licensed product company that sells shiny Firefly products. Anyways, they added me which made me ecstatic so I replied to them: WOW! @QMxInsider is now following me!! SQUEE!

I just spent 20 bloody minutes crying my eyes out. I was watching Bridge to Terabithia. Whole last 20 minutes....and then I go upstairs and look out my backyard and see gorram purple flowers!! And the tears start again.

I'm going to watch Jaynestown now to make me happy again.

I have a 92 a gorram 92.65% in PHYSICS!!! ME, in physics, an A+!!!!! Where in the 'verse did THAT come from????

I also got 97% on my film studies which means I got 91.4% in Film...I have an 89.7% in software tools s(I hope they round up) and no idea in web developing and programming(my exam is thursday)

Looks like I get to keep my scholarship!!! SSSSSSQQQQQQUUUUUUEEEEEE!!!!!!

On another note, there seemed to be a high amount of Firefly coinci-references in Castle today!!

So I just joined Twitter because I found out that Nathan Fillion has one and he is so funny I have to follow him. Well, I totally sent him AND Joss Whedon replies!!!! *FAINT* That means they may read them!!! *faints again*

I just bought my gold pass to the FIREFLY CONVENTION!!!!!!!! It's actually in LA this year but I have to keep calling it Burbank....I AM SO EXCITED!!!! The guest list hasn't been announced yet but just knowing that I am going makes me sooooooooooooooooo happy!!!!

Funny story:

So my friend Yasmine was complaining once again how I obsess over Firefly which is really funny because I hardly ever bring it up! I mean I know others don't necessarily want to talk about it so I refrain from bringing it up. I read or watch stuff related to it by myself and she always sees and brings attention to it.

Well, she was harping about it once more and saying how it was just a silly sci-fi show and that no one has seen Serenity. I was all ready to throw some box-office stats at her and tell her about Can't Stop the Serenity screenings when two, TWO, two people in the row behind us said, "Actually I have! It was awesome!" One girl loves the show too; the guy hadn't gotten around to it yet but he loved the movie.

That showed Yasmine!!! Funniest moment EVER! The look on her face was priceless!

Blurgh.

I finished my computer programming assignment. But the web developping one isn't going as well. I really don't understand Javascript. It's an awful lot like programming class and I'm just so sick and tired of it. Happily, though, we get to choose the content of our site so mine is about...wait for it...FIREFLY!

Okay, so no surprise there. It makes it a lot more interesting though. Which is a good thing. I'd hate for it to be on something like walruses. I have to include all this Javascript coding for a calculator, a form, a hover gallery of images, and lots of other random coding...so hard to make a website that makes sense. I don't want to just stick the code in randomly.

So I have the home page being the "registration" form. Then I have a "about" page that will have the hover image gallery to talk about the characters, a hidden text that reveals the synopsis of each show and a drop down nav menu thingy to navigate to other firefly sites like fffans.net, still-flying.net and possibly some others.

The "products" page will have the calculator cause I can find a whole bunch of stuff for that from Qmx and Amazon. So that'll be fine.

I have to somehow include an animation coded from Javascript...where can I put that? Go se.

I'm watching the Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles Season 1 finale and almost started crying in the middle of my computer lab when Derek tells John that his (John's) father throws a ball pretty well for a five year old. And the look on John's face...GAH! SO powerful.
